Bank of Jamaica data shows diaspora transfers up 6% year over year. Florida and New York remain the top source markets for money sent to Jamaica.

Jamaica received a record US$3.8 billion in remittances during 2025, according to data published by the Bank of Jamaica. This represents a 6% increase over 2024 and marks the highest level of diaspora transfers in Jamaica's history.

Florida and New York remain the two largest source markets, accounting for approximately 60% of total inflows. The United Kingdom and Canada are the next largest contributors.

Remittances continue to be one of Jamaica's most significant sources of foreign exchange, second only to tourism. The Bank of Jamaica noted that mobile remittance services have contributed to the growth, with more senders opting for app-based transfers over traditional cash pickup services.
